Quarterly Meeting and Welcome Aboard News

On June 21, 2008 the Northern New England Parents Association Welcomed the Principle Candidates for the Class of 2012 and their parents to the Kings Point Family at a Luncheon at Joe's American Bar and Grill in Dedham MA.

Eight of the 11 Candidates were present and received from their Senators or Governors their own State Flag and a Certificate praising their accomplishment. For those unable to attend -- you will be receiving your flags in the mail.

This was a great chance for Parents to meet with the new parents and reassure them that everything will be fine. The Principle Candidates sat with current Midshipmen and Alumni to gain perspective on their new venture.

Prior to the Luncheon, our business meeting was held and Officers elected for 2008-2009.

There are a number of events that will be coming up in the early fall. Keep your eyes on this website to find out how we will be supporting the Midshipmen from or Visiting New England.

5-7 September 2008 is PARENTS Weekend at Kings Point. We will be selling our Coasters, accepting memberships and visiting with those who will be attending to watch their Plebe Candidates be accepted in to the Regiment as a Plebe Class.

13 September 2008 at KP - FOOTBALL USMMA vs Coast Guard

20 September 2008 is UMASS –Dartmouth Invitational – North Dartmouth MA -- We have been asked to help coordinate and provide some food and fellowship to the KP Athletes visiting MA.

5 October 2008 is the Textile River Regatta in Lowell MA. KP Athletes will be participating against some of the largest crew teams in US.

18-19 October 2008 - Head of the Charles Regatta -- Join us as we head down with a picnic for the USMMA Crew team and cheer them on as they accept the challenge of some of the Top Crew teams in the Nation.

December 27 -- is the All Academy Holly Ball being Hosted by West Point MA Parents Club and West Point. It is being held at the Hyatt Regency Boston (Avenue du LaFayette). They are providing special rates for the event night. Please plan on attending this beautiful holiday event. (It will be our turn to host in 2012)
